About Keiki
I’m a writer pursuing the wondrous, majestic things of our great God. I’m also a social media and marketing consultant for Christian authors. I help Christian authors learn how to engage in and enjoy social media by utilizing the proven publicity method I call the P272 formula…
Let another man praise thee, and not thine own mouth; a stranger, and not thine own lips.
~ Proverbs 27:2
There is a difference between advertising and publicity. Both are techniques to gain media exposure and both have advantages and disadvantages. Advertising is purchased exposure for a product or service. Publicity is the generation of word-of-mouth or testimonial or interest in a product or service.
In today’s publishing landscape, Christian authors are required to market themselves more than ever before. I help Christian authors first engage in social media, develop a growing community of readers, and maintain interaction with their readers.
Bio
If you say to me “Tell me about yourself,” my short answer is ‘I’m a garden variety blood-bought daughter of the living, loving Most High God attempting to practice three person teaching.’ Yes, that’s about it, me in a nutshell. But for more detail, read on.
In 2008, I launched The Vessel Project, a website to showcase Christian authors, emerging authors, and articles of interest for those who love Christian books. This is my flagship site because I have a heart for promoting Christian authors and their books. Since the initial launch, The Vessel Project has grown to over 650 subscribers and an average of 2,000 to 3,000 unique visitors per day.
After leaving the corporate world in 2010, ending a twenty years of experience with a large Telecommunications company, I pursued a freelance writing career. Since then, I’ve published hundreds of articles as a contributing columnist on various online media outlets including BlogCritics.org, CBN.com, Examiner.com, and EverydayChristian.com.
I remain a Christian writer of Bible Studies, Devotions, and Non-Fiction books for women. I am currently working on a non-fiction book for women called Flirting, Flattery and Foolishness. If you are interested in reading more about my WIP, visit the Projects section of this website.
I’m the editor of The Vessel Project where I publish Christian author interviews, feature emerging authors and their book reviews and list several free resources for those interested in Christian books. The Vessel Project is my flagship site. I have a heart for promoting quality Christian books and The Vessel Project is the vehicle I use to do this.
I also serve as the Update Editor for The Writers View II (TWV2), an online writers group where authors, editors, agents, publishers, and freelance writers offer their time and talent to emerging authors. If you are an emerging author, I would highly recommend this online resource. It operates much like a Christian writers conference except it is entirely online.
I have the honor to serve on the leadership team for the Write2Ignite! Conference, a conference for Christian writers of children and young adults literature. Write2Ignite! is an annual writers conference that also offers periodic one day workshops in various locations.
Consulting is my latest venture. I began offering social media and marketing services as well as website design and development services in July 2011. New to the consulting field, I am eager to work with Christian authors and help them not only engage and develop a vibrant, healthy social media platform, but also enjoy themselves while doing it. After all, when I set out to engage in social media, my only goal was to enjoy myself. This approach has resulted in a Twitter following of over 14,000 and a Facebook Fan page of over 2,500. If you are considering building a social media platform or if you need a website built or redesigned, I’d be honored if you would consider me.
